By Mitch Sutterfield, Old Town Tours Coordinator, Historic Fairfax City, Inc.
HFCI’s Old Town Tours had a lively season in 2025, expanding our lineup of expert guides and events. In addition to the standard six tours, running May through October on the last Saturdays of those months, we added special tours available to all, but with particular invitations to community groups. There were three of these this year: one for Fairfax City elected officials; a second for the City’s Senior Center (our biggest crowd!); and a third for an unusual clientele—Cultural Exchange for Diplomats. Next year, we hope to add church groups (as we have in the past), as well as school groups from Fairfax High School and George Mason University.
Our superb roster of tour guides boasted three HFCI Board members, among them Matt West, Stephen Hoyle, and myself, along with two guides of professional caliber: Bob Reinsel and Christian Mirasol.
Join us next year as we celebrate our City’s 250 years in America (and a few colonial decades previous!).
