HFCI kicked off its 2026 Historic Fairfax City Walking tour season on Saturday, May 30! Turnout for the event was very good with about 15 people joining the tour, including Fairfax City Manager Dan Alexander. The beautiful weather made it a perfect day to stroll about Old Town Fairfax discussing history and historic resources.
The Historic Fairfax Walking Tour features stories from the 1700’s up to the present day, and highlights many of the buildings in our National Historic District, including the landmark Historic Fairfax County Courthouse and Jail, the Truro Rectory, the Moore-McCandlish house, the Ford Building, and Old Town Hall. We also bring context to our 20th Century commercial buildings along main street.
HFCI walking tours are free and run the last Saturday of the month May through October. See the Events page for the next tour date and more information.
