What interests you about the History of our community?

Fairfax has much to offer to those who are curious about its history. It has been home to many interesting and influential people due to its historic position as the county seat and the presence of the county court since 1800. Its proximity to Washington DC put it on the front lines during the early days of Civil War, and it holds great possibilities for the study of 20th century growth and suburbanization.

Why should citizens of the City of Fairfax become members of HFCI?

Everyone should consider becoming a member of HFCI because it returns value to the community in the form of historic preservation and local identity. Our historic downtown is a wonderful place to visit, and joining HFCI provides funds to help us keep it that way.
